Access Level Roles Assignment

Access level roles can only be assigned to users with matching user types:

  • Leader and Leader + Administrator access level roles can only be assigned to users with the Leader user type.
  • Collaborator and Collaborator + Administrator access level roles can be assigned to users with the Collaborator user type.
  • Participant access level role can only be assigned to users with the Participant user type.

Permission Matrix by Access Level Role

This table provides a comprehensive overview of the five access level roles available in the Lumia platform, along with the specific permissions granted to each role. Roles are structured hierarchically to ensure appropriate access control across the organisation.

Leader access‑level roles in the platform are fully configurable, allowing organisations to tailor the exact capabilities granted to each leadership tier. Administrators can enable or disable specific permissions, adjust visibility levels, and refine editing rights to match internal governance, privacy expectations, and operational needs. This flexibility ensures that leadership roles remain aligned with the organisation’s structure while maintaining clear, controlled access to sensitive information. The values displayed in this matrix reflect the system’s default configuration before any custom access adjustments are applied.
Each access level role grants progressively more permissions, with administrator roles including additional configuration and management capabilities:

Cultural Leader

Cultural Leader is a special role granted to Cultural Leaders within the organisation. This role provides a focused set of permissions relevant to cultural leadership activities, including access to cultural indexes, career valuations, peer catch-ups, and cultural leadership cohort configuration.

Base Permissions

These permissions are always granted to Cultural Leaders:

Permission

Cultural Leader

Standard permissions every person needs in order to log in.

View and edit cultural index information for everyone who has it enabled.

View and edit career valuation information for everyone who has it enabled.

View all Peer Catch-ups (excluding private teams).

Edit Peer Catch-ups for everyone else.

Configure who is in which cultural group.

Special Organisation-Level Configuration Permissions

These permissions are not fixed. They depend on how the organisation configures the Cultural Leadership Framework in Organisation Configuration → Cultural Leadership Framework.

The above configuration dynamically changes what Cultural Leaders can see or do.

Cultural Leader Cohort Visibility Settings

These settings determine what a Cultural Leader can see in other cohorts (they always see full data in their own cohort).

The organisation may choose one of:

  • View and edit all quantitative and qualitative data
  • View only quantitative data
  • View only anonymous data (example shown in screenshot)

Effect:
This setting overrides the default cultural index and career valuation visibility for cohorts outside their own.
